John McNicholl - Irish Country Star

The name John McNicholl has become a fixture on the Irish country music charts over the past decade and he is now setting out to replicate that success in Australia with the release of his sixth album and first ever Australian visit.

Since winning the Country Music UK Award for Best Newcomer in 2001, John has gone on to release four Gold albums, one platinum album and a multi-platinum DVD in his home country of Ireland. His success has been recognized by the Irish & UK music industry where he has received numerous awards including the Hit Country TV Award in 2011 for ‘Album of the Year’ for “Someone Like You”. Other highlights of his rapidly ascending career include sharing a stage with his music heroes, Daniel O’Donnell & Sir Cliff Richard and supporting Sir Elton John in concert.

His growing legion of Australian fans will have the chance to experience John’s charms first-hand when he undertakes his first promotional tour here in September, which will culminate with a concert and meet & greet event at the Smithfield R.S.L, Smithfield, N.S.W on Friday 16th September.

John’s Australian tour will be preceded by the release of his sixth album, “It’s Your Love” on Friday 5th August through Timeless Music/Sony Music Entertainment Australia. The title track will be the first single to be lifted from the album and is a cover of the Tim McGraw & Faith Hill duet from 1996.
