Djokovic slams it for the silverware

6-4 6-1 1-6 6-3 is what it took to usher in a new era of Wimbledon with Novak Djokovic's demolition of the once-dominant Rafael Nadal in London.

The unseats Nadal from the world Number 1 position and firmly plants the Serbian in Nadal's place after a year of wins and upsets that have seen him cast aside first Roger Federer and now Nadal.

But the win may be remembered more for Djokovic's bizarre victory celebration than the actual crowning glory of taking the most coveted trophy in tennis. At the conclusion of the match the Serbian picked grass from centre court and ate it.
